In all my years as a lover of rap music and the surrounding hip-hop culture, I have never heard West Coast rap referred to as "Contemporary Hip-Hop" nor have I heard East Coast rap referred to as "Classic Hip-Hop" as it is on the Play Back play list. The separation point between Play Back and Los Santos seems to be that all of the songs and acts included on the latter's play list originate from the West, which means that somebody's terminology is a bit skewed.
The interesting thing is that while the station is billed as being "contemporary" several of the songs could easily have fit into the "flash back" play list of the Play Back station (for example, N.W.A.'s "Express Yourself" came out in 1989 Too $hort's "The Ghetto" was released in 1990).
